Puzzles - Mission Week 79

Que tal

This week was pretty good! It went by really fast. Elder Newton got to the area and we jumped right into a ton of stuff for the social media campaigns in the mission. We are making a bunch of training videos which is always fun! 

We tried to contact a lot of the people we are teaching and most of them didn't respond. Seriously you'd think that with everyone being home all the time people would respond to texts and answer calls

... guess not haha. 

We got a cool referral this week. Someone went online and requested to meet with us so hopefully we can get in contact with her soon. 

We did a puzzle that my mom sent! It was really fun. We also got to spend some time with out districts. We played ultimate frisbee a bunch it was a blast. It's a really fun zone to be in because it is soooooo small everyone is pretty tight. One of the apartments of sisters has been crocheting a bunch of stuff lately and so they made me and elder newton crocheted ties haha. It was a pretty cool surprise. 

Also we finally caught the squirrel haha.

Potatoes - Mission Week 78

Well this week was Elder Averett's last week as a missionary... it's kinda wild cuz all the Hermanas in my MTC group are also going home... I'm super old. 

The thing that made week super fun was a giant service project we helped with. Agrinorthwest is one of the largest farms in the US and it's owned by the Church. They are the potato supplier for a ton of the biggest restaurant chains in America. Since the coronavirus has hurt restaurants they had a ton of stored potatoes that wouldn't be sold so they said that we could give away as many potatoes as we bagged. So for 2 days we went and bagged potatoes from this giant mound. 

I dont remember how many tons they said this storage was holding but it wasn't even 1/3 full. We ended up bagging 31.5 tons of potatoes to give away to the needy and we didn't even make a dent in this pile. I will include lots of pics. 

It was super fun to get out of the apartment and get dirty, and work a little. The third day we went back to the farm but this time to load all the potatoes into trucks. For some reason they only asked that 4 elders come but we definitely could have used more help haha it was probably the hardest work I've done in a while. It was a lot of fun though!! We did a total of 1800 35lb bags. 

I'm super bummed to see E. Averett go, but I get to stay here in Kennewick at least one more transfer with E. Newton, my new companion. I've served around him a lot already so I know we'll have a good time. 

Anyways, another kinda short email, hopefully things will pick back up soon.

Facebook stuff - Mission Week 77

Well this week went super fast!

We were very busy with our new social media stuff we are doing. Elder Averett and I as well as 4 other missionaries were assigned to be social media specialists in charge of leading the mission in a new effort to find people to teach using facebook. It's really exciting, I won't go into details but it's cool to kinda pioneer some new things that will be in the mission for years after we leave. 

That pretty much took up most of our time this week so I dont have a ton else to talk about. Easter was good, we had a good Sunday school lesson with our zone about the resurrection & the Homer's in the ward brought us an easter dinner! 

This is Elder Averett's last full week as a missionary so pray for him haha. It will be sad to see him go he's the best.

Corona Cypher - Mission Week 76

Hey y'all what's happenin 

Quarantine life is still about the same I don't have a ton to talk about. We cooked a bunch of food this week and watched a few church movies. We had a few more member lessons and stuff like that and had a mission wide conference as well as MLC. 

We made a song with the APs to try and motivate the mission :] it was pretty fun and excuse the white rapping. 

Conference tho was super legit!! We had a super good time watching it and feeling the Spirit of God. 

Highlight talks for me were the ones by Elder James Rasband, Elder Holland (as always), Elder Oaks, and everything Pres. Nelson. I would highly recommend a re read on all of those or if you have read them they are soooooo good. 

My testimony is that God does answer prayers. I won't go into details but I went into conference with a question and I was promised that I would receive answers. I did receive an answer and I know that it was an answer from God. Please watch general conference if you are having any questions about anything your soul desires! I know that God speaks through living prophets and that he cares about us.
